Lanterns for Loss will commemorate National Children’s Grief Awareness Day.
We invite children who had lost a close family member to decorate a lantern in memory of their loved one. In addition to volunteers from Pandora’s Kids, an artist and a children’s therapist from Rhythms of Hope will be on site to help guide children in using art to express their grief. Lanterns and decorative supplies will be provided, and families are invited to bring any supplies or mementos they wish to use as well.
All lanterns will be displayed in a pop-up memorial garden at Clematis by Night. At sundown, the lanterns will be illuminated.
Please RSVP here. (If you are unable to come but would like to participate in decorating a lantern, please register using the link and check the appropriate box. We will reach out to arrange drop-off and pickup.)
We will be on the 3rd Floor of the library, in the Clematis Room.
